The Associated Press is moving ahead with plans for a system to detect unlicensed use of its content and potentially create new ways for the 163-year-old news cooperative and other media to make more money on the Internet.
It seems 100% ironic that I’m posting this to my blog… basically committing the exact act this system is designed to prevent. Woo! Hurray irony.
UPDATE: you know, the more I think about this from a usage-rights revenue perspective, the more I understand AT LEAST the intention behind it. Still, though, I don’t think they can stop the signal but, you know, can’t blame them for trying.
